The Goddard Group this week announced that it is creating a Cirque du Soleil-theme park to be built in Mexico. The project is a join development of the Goddard Group, Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta and will be built in Nuevo Vallarta.

That looks like a teacup spinner under the canopy to the left. Obviously, one would expect Cirque shows in this new park, but Goddard also has promised " the 'star' attractions here are completely new experiences that don't yet exist in the world."

This is very intriguing, especially since I'm such a Cirque fan. I wondered if they would ever try tapping into the theme park niche. Any news on why they are building in Mexico when the company is based in Quebec? I would imagine it's due to a more conducive climate down south, but I'm a little surprised that they snubbed Canada.
