Orlando Theme Park Hours

February 17, 2014, 11:31 AM

I was wondering how does Disney and Universal decide their daily operating hours for their parks. I know that they may close earlier during the non-peak/non-holiday season but I do notice they may have later operating hours (opened late) during non-peak/non-holiday season. Example, the week of March 2-8, Magic Kingdom is open on 3/7/14 from 9am-1am but as far as I know, it is not any special holiday or peak period. Is that week the beginning of college spring break and that explains the extended operating hours? I was just curious of the whole process.

Yes, spring breaks typically start in early March, and can end around mid-April, depending upon when Easter hits during the year.

I think it also has to do with the hours of the other parks. For example, if DHS or AK are closing earlier, maybe they keep the MK open later.
