New on the site: Silver Dollar City

October 18, 2009, 9:15 PM · We've added the attraction and dining line-ups for Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, so you can start submitting ratings and reviews for that Herschend theme park.

Silver Dollar City

The listings are courtesy of Theme Park Insider reader James Rao, who inputted them into the system over the weekend. Regular readers may remember that James filed a detailed trip report from Silver Dollar City last April.

While we welcome trip reports and discussion threads on all theme and amusement parks, regardless of size, we've limited the number of parks that we do full listings for in the ratings and reviews pages. Typically, U.S. theme parks need to do about 2.5 million visitors a year to be included in the ratings. But we do make exceptions for smaller parks of exceptional quality, such as Legoland California, Dollywood and Holiday World.

James' reports about Dollywood's sister park convinced me that Silver Dollar City deserved inclusion as well, so now it's in the listings. So if you're visited the park in the past year or two, please click over to its new listing page and submit your ratings for the attractions and restaurants that you experienced when you visited. Thanks to James, and thanks to all Theme Park Insider readers for their ratings and reviews.

I still have more restaurants and pictures to add... but now it is time for bed. =) I will continue to update the entries and flesh things out over the next few days. And if anyone else wants to help out... well, more power to them!

October 18, 2009 at 9:40 PM · Thanks for the addition of Silver Dollar City. It is a great theme park that is really getting a lot of attention lately. Amusement Today just voted them #1 Friendliest park. They gained well over 20% in one year in that category. They shot from #3 to #1 surpassing Holiday World in the category who has held the recognition for 10 years! My personal opinion is that Silver Dollar City is a 10/10 park they are 100% genuinely friendly and go above and beyond expectations!

October 19, 2009 at 4:30 AM · I have almost everything updated, just need to add about a half dozen more restaurants. I also submitted the various venues for live shows and demonstrations which are such a huge part of Silver Dollar City. It is up to you, Robert, if you want to include them since they are not typical theme park fare. I would argue, though, that Silver Dollar City is not your typical theme park! =)

October 19, 2009 at 8:55 AM · been awhile since i was here. James thanks for the menories. it has been 5 years since last trip to SDC. just too far from Pa. we enjoyed our time there
