Water Park Apprentice: Challenge 1, Create a themed boat ride

June 20, 2010, 7:00 PM · Following the Discussion Board's "Theme Park Apprentice" game, we've got another attraction design contest going - "Water Park Apprentice." Same rules apply: The contestants submit their ideas for a specific challenge, then you vote for your favorite. Since we are starting with 14 contestants this time, the two contestants who gets the fewest votes will be "fired," i.e. eliminated from the competition.

So let's get to it: Read the Challenge 1 thread: To create a themed boat ride, then vote for your favorite contestant below:

Speak out for your favorite, in the comments.

June 20, 2010 at 7:30 PM · Ido not know what you want to call it but you should have a interactive lazy river were there are water canons on the side of the ride for spectators to shoot at the tubes going by and gusts ie riders in the tubes/ride can shoot back with water canons mounted onto their tubes
June 20, 2010 at 7:32 PM · Looks like TH is taking the early lead.
June 20, 2010 at 7:38 PM · I thought everyone did an amazing job! I had to go with TH though it was very difficult to choose. I would love to see this ride come to Epcot's World Showcase. I can't wait to see everyone's ideas for the next challenge.
June 20, 2010 at 7:54 PM · Dan -- This would be my dream boat ride! Love it!
June 20, 2010 at 8:19 PM · I've have to give it to Joshua. I would love to see this. I don't see how TH's would fit, But it was still a close second.
June 20, 2010 at 8:47 PM · I went with Joshua's. Not because I thought it was the best/grandest idea but because it's the one I'd most like to see built! I love the Peanuts holiday specials and that building at CP is in dire need of an overhaul. It was outdated when I went there as a kid, more than 35 years ago.
June 21, 2010 at 6:06 AM · Interesting that some people I thought would have done better are doing worse than I thought...Well I'm sure its no surprise, but I voted for Joshua. 2nd favorite was James, and TH would be my third favorite.
June 21, 2010 at 9:06 AM · Went with Dan's Wonka ride. I also liked Joshua's, the King Kong ride, and the Mario one (was going to pick this, just had too many drops in my opinion).
June 21, 2010 at 10:57 AM · You know, I wish that they'd build Nessie's ride
I wish that they'd build Nessie's ride
(Tell me)
Where can I find a monster like that?
June 21, 2010 at 10:58 AM · That was my Rick Springfield impersonation. :o)
June 21, 2010 at 5:12 PM · I will say that the champion and the runner up are scraping near the bottom!
June 21, 2010 at 6:21 PM · I'm not sure that I'm completely agreeing with these results, but we may have our two fired contestants.
June 21, 2010 at 6:33 PM · Tim W.: "I'm not sure that I'm completely agreeing with these results ..."

I Respond: Strange. My name is also Tim as and yet I am totally okay with the results. Who'd have guessed?

June 21, 2010 at 7:04 PM · TH, Oh well i certainly don't mean the top, the guys who got top deserved it, especially you who did a great job. But some of the people who are near the bottom, i think should have gotten a few more votes. I'm very surprised Nick and Anthony are towards the bottom. I really enjoyed their ideas as well. However, it is early in the competition and there aren't that many votes to go around. It also looks like I will be deciding this first round as we have a four contestants currently with 2 percent each.
June 21, 2010 at 8:04 PM · The last unnamed post was me! I did it though my phone! TECHNOLOGY!

Anyway, its a suprise that we are near the bottom. We will see! It looks right now we should be fine!

Seriously though, I love everybody's idea!

June 22, 2010 at 2:44 AM · Anthony, as far as the rankings go, remember that Georges Suerat, the greatest French Impressionist painter, never sold a painting in his life. I just hope that doesn't mean we have to die to win WPA!
June 22, 2010 at 1:43 PM · Man, I can't believe I'm out. Jaws is one of the greatest movies of all time and it's a Speilberg classic. How did I go wrong? Darn everyone who didn't vote for me.....Just kidding. I'm still disappointed that I lost. :(
