It's Your Last Chance to See the Osborne Dancing Lights at Walt Disney World

November 17, 2015, 8:13 PM · ORLANDO — This is the final year for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The show will play through the New Year, but whether you can get to Disney World to see the lights this year or not, let's take one final look at the extravaganza.

Here is a video clip, from my visit last night:

Disney will be live-streaming the lights at 10:30pm ET on Wednesday night, too. Here's where to see them. The lights go dark for the last time on Jan. 3, as Disney's Hollywood Studios prepares for Star Wars Land construction.

The main street and Sunset Blvd should be where the lights comes back. Rename it "Osborne Lights Up Hollywood".

It would do nothing but drive attendance to this newly improved shopping and entertainment district. It would also offer the added benefit of providing locals with an amazing holiday attraction without paying for an admission ticket. There are many holiday events in Orlando, but all of them are behind turnstiles. Those locals (and everybody else) will eventually open their wallets for a meal, drinks, entertainment and shopping. It seems like a no-brainer win/win to me.

Also the lights were a lot better when there was a residential street to display them on as well. Don't care as much for the Downtown vibe.

November 18, 2015 at 5:25 PM · My guess is Disney is working on something new for next year at one of the other parks And if not, there will be endless complaints about how Disney got rid of something popular and didn't replace it. Attendance will still go up though.
November 18, 2015 at 6:57 PM · So sad that OFL is going. That was always my favorite holiday theme park attraction. Every time I went to
go see it, I would see everyone around me, children, adults, and even teenagers, with huge smiles on their faces. Please tell me Disney isn't going to replace this with a certain bad holiday special from a certain popular sci-fi franchise that may or may not be built for this park.
November 19, 2015 at 8:52 PM · I am so MAD Disney is taking down the lights!!! This is a blessing to so many people. If you care about your park visitors you should listen!!!
November 20, 2015 at 5:39 PM · They keep taking stuff away and it will be years before we get to see what's in its place. Our family has flown to WDW to see the lights for the past 10 years.
