Walt Disney World's PizzeRizzo to open on November 18
Pizza is coming back to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Walt Disney World Resort announced today that PizzeRizzo will open November 18, in the former Pizza Planet Arcade location.
Disney changed the theme of the surrounding area from Streets of America to Muppets Courtyard when it began tearing down the majority of the land to clear space for the construction of Star Wars Land. With only the MuppetVision 3D movie and two restaurants remaining, Disney chose to retheme the walk-up pizza restaurant to the Muppet Rizzo the Rat, creating a backstory about his family being pizza makers. (The fact that the name "Rizzo" also allowed Disney to create a pun on "pizzeria" probably also had something to do with decision....)
Disney also announced menu details for the newly refurbished restaurant. Even though Disney created a pitch-perfect New York pizzeria logo for the restaurant, PizzeRizzo's pizzas will be served individually-sized, in four varieties: cheese, pepperoni, "meat lovers" and vegetable. A meatball sub and Antipasto salad also will be on the menu.

Personal pizzas=lost opportunity.
Agree - personal pizzas? This was their chance to do something special, make it a real pizzeria. I can live with Rizzo the Rat making pizza better than Remy the Rat appearing in the France pavilion restaurant at Epcot. I understand the story of Ratatouille, but a rat in a restaurant is still not appealing.
NYC-style cheesy slices with a semolina crust or it doesn't happen. What a blown opportunity by Disney.
As long as people buy that crap Disney won't improve on the poor quality.
Yup, as long as people just blindly hand over their $$$ because "its Disney", Disney will only do the absolute bare minimum that the consumer will allow them to get away with.
Didn't someonce once say "there's a sucker born every day" ... just sayin'
So what can people do after having their rat pizza? Where's the roach ice cream? The Muppets movie is 20 years old. It's already gone at California Adventure. I prefer they create a Muppets ride. Otherwise, call it Muppets Food Courtyard.
Hopefully this pizza will be better than the pizza that was there before!
So, back to the crappy pizza?
As Rizzo would say, "they're tourists, what do they know?!?"

Always liked this spot, very good location and relatively fast for when you're coming off Muppet Vision so looking forward to the new look.
