The Force Awakens in Legoland's Star Wars Miniland

March 10, 2017, 9:27 AM · Can't wait to see a richly detailed Star Wars land in a theme park? You don't need to. Legoland California has had a Star Wars section in its Miniland for nearly six years now and yesterday expanded it with a new Force Awakens display.

The newest addition to Miniland includes six scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, mostly on the planet Jakku: Kylo Ren’s capture of Poe, Rey’s rescue of BB-8, Finn and Poe’s escape from the Star Destroyer Finalizer, the wreck of Finn and Poe’s TIE Fighter, Rey, Finn and BB-8’s escape from Niima Outpost, and the escape from the Starship Graveyard.

Mounted six feet above the ground, the 16-foot-long Star Destroyer Finalizer is the longest model in Star Wars Miniland and made of more than 350,000 Lego bricks. Let's take at look at the displays, along with scened from the grand opening:

March 10, 2017 at 12:15 PM · It's really fun to people watch in the Star Wars sections of Miniland. You see a lot of dads just entranced with smiles on their faces. Kids love it too, but I feel it's the only place in the park where kids are trying to pull their parents away.
