Starting May 17, Disney will start offering Mickey Mouse Celebration cakes at its table-service restaurants, in the iconic shape of Mouseketeer ears. The cakes, which will come in traditional and white chocolate, will cost $35 each and serve four to six people. Cakes can be inscribed with either "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations," or left blank, but custom messages are not available.
While these cakes might be available with no advance notice, Disney is saying that quantities of these specialty cakes will be limited, so it suggests adding them to your reservation when you book your table.
Walt Disney World now is also taking reservations for dining packages that will include reserved seating for its upcoming The Music of Pixar LIVE! symphony performances at Disney's Hollywood Studios, which start May 26. The dining packages are for meals at Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, or The Hollywood Brown Derby, and Disney Dining Plan credits can be used for the package. (It's two table-service credits for the Brown Derby and one for the other restaurants.) The package is available through Disney's restaurant reservation phone number: +1-407-WDW-DINE [+1-407-939-3463]. You can call that number for the Mickey cake orders, too.
At Disney Springs, the Portobello Country Italian Trattoria has closed. Operator Levy Restaurants has turned the facility over to James Beard award-winner and Top Chef Master, Tony Mantuano, to develop a new concept for the space. The new restaurant is slated to open sometime this fall.Tweet
