Universal Studios Hollywood details its 2017 holiday plans

September 27, 2017, 4:25 PM · The Christmas holidays will kick off November 24 this year at Universal Studios Hollywood, as the park offers its first Harry Potter-themed holiday celebration.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will run daily at Universal Studios Hollywood from November 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018. The highlight will be the return of the land's castle projection show, now with a holiday theme. The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle show will run nightly in the park's Harry Potter land.

In addition, the Wizarding World's Frog Choir show will feature holiday tunes, and Universal will be selling a new collection of Wizarding World-themed Christmas ornaments and collectibles. The seasonal menu at The Three Broomsticks and Hot Butterbeer will return, too.

Universal also will be bringing back its long-running Grinchmas holiday celebration, as well. That will kick off December 2, continuing for that and the next weekend before picking up daily operation from December 15 through December 31. The event will feature the return of a 60-foot Grinchmas tree to Universal Plaza, where fans also can find meet and greets and performances by several Whovillian musical groups, including a Whoville boy band ensemble.
