Universal Studios Hollywood gets into the New Year's Eve game

November 30, 2017, 3:50 PM · Universal Studios Hollywood announced today that it will host its first-ever New Year's Eve event next month.

The California park will adopt the "Eve" branding of Universal Orlando's CityWalk event, running special entertainment in the park from 9pm on December 31, building up to a fireworks display at midnight. Universal Studios Hollywood will be open from 9am to 1am on New Year's Eve, and the "Eve" special event is included with regular park admission.

Annual passholders who are blacked out on the day may buy discounted tickets for $49 each through Universal's website. AP holders can also buy after 6pm tickets for friends and family for $59 each or full-day tickets for $105. New Year's Eve tickets to the general public cost $116 on Universal's website and will cost $120 at the gate, if tickets are still available by that day.

The Eve event will include three DJ dance party areas in the park as well as extended hours for Universal's Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Grichmas holiday celebrations.

Universal Studios Hollywood is located just a few minutes via the 134 from Pasadena, where the annual Rose Parade will step off seven hours after the conclusion of Eve, at 8am on January 1. The Rose Bowl Game, which is a national college football semifinal game this year, will follow at 1pm, so there will be plenty to do (and plenty of crowds) in the area.
