Walt Disney World finally gets a vampire-themed attraction

December 20, 2018, 9:06 PM · Sure, it's just a few days before Christmas, we're still 25 days closer to the date of last Halloween than the start date of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year was to October 31, so why not? Let's talk about vampires... especially since Walt Disney World is getting a vampire-themed attraction this weekend.

That said, I probably am reminding you now of another Halloween monster — specifically a troll, because the "vampire" that soon will grace the stage at Disney World is the tweenage Vampirina, star of the Disney Junior cartoon of the same name.

If you're not familiar with Vampirina, she's the daughter in a family that moved from Transylvania to Pennsylvania to open a bed and breakfast for vampires and other monsters. (Sound familiar? Surely not. I mean, Disney's cable networks would never ride another franchise's coattails, would they?)

Vampirina loves music and dance, so she's a natural fit as the star of the new Disney Junior Dance Party that opens Saturday in the Animation Courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The musical show also features characters from Doc McStuffins, The Lion Guard, and Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

Got a little kid who needs to get out of that stroller and run around for few minutes? The new show replaces Disney Junior: Live on Stage and plays multiple times daily.
