Dolly Parton welcomes 'largest expansion ever' at Dollywood

May 10, 2019, 9:02 AM · Tennessee's Dollywood is opening the largest expansion in its history, a new children's land called Wildwood Grove.

Featuring nearly a dozen new rides and experiences, including a Vekoma suspended family coaster, Wildwood Grove offers a rare experience among children's lands at popular theme parks — one that is not devoted to some established animation IP. Your "hosts" in this new land are two butterflies, Flit and Flutter, and the centerpiece is a giant animated tree that comes to life each night in show featuring lights and projection mapping.

National treasure Dolly Parton helped dedicate the new land in a welcoming ceremony last night, during which she premiered the land's new theme song. IAAPA posted a video of the ceremony, and Dolly is introduced at the 12:30 mark.

Wildwood Grove officially opens to Dollywood visitors tomorrow. We invite you to rate and review Dollywood's attractions, including the new rides and play areas in Wildwood Grove, on our Dollywood pages.

BEAUTIFUL Dollywood gets EVEN BETTER! Love Dollywood - love the Smoking Mountain theme, love the attractions, love the food, love the staff and love the accommodations. Dollywood and the surrounding Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area is fantastic for a five day/four night vacation. Highly recommended if you have not been. My kids still talk about our TN/Dollywood trips when reminiscing about our past vacations. We hope to go again soon!
