Veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit: Disney to expand vegan menus

September 24, 2019, 12:53 PM · The Disney theme parks will be offering "hundreds" of vegan dishes at its restaurants, as Disney expands the number of plant-based selections at its table service and major counter service food locations over the next months, the company announced today.

Disney will note the dishes with a green leaf icon on its menu, helping consumers to more easily find selections that do not include animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. The expanded menus roll out starting October 1 at Walt Disney World's quick service food locations and at the resort's table service restaurants two days later. The new icon and menus will debut at the Disneyland Resort in the spring of 2020, the company said.

The expansion means that all of Disney's table service and major quick service locations at Walt Disney World and Disneyland will have significant vegan selections on their menus, with an expansion of plant-based offerings at Disney resorts around the world as well as on the Disney Cruise Line. Here is Disney's video announcing the change:

This is progress. I applaud Disney for catering to a minority group. (The fact that there has been only one comment on this post is an indication of exactly how overwhelming a minority vegans are.)
