Here's how to learn to draw Disney characters at home

March 19, 2020, 7:48 PM · If you've been here around Theme Park Insider for a while, you've probably heard me go on about my love for Disney's Animation Academy. There's no better way to experience the heart of Disney than by learning how to draw its most iconic characters for yourself. Plus, the picture you draw is a free souvenir!

With the Disney parks closed worldwide right now, you still can enjoy an "Animation Academy"-type Disney drawing class at home, thanks to step-by-step instruction videos that Disney Parks animators have posted online. Here's one of the newer ones, featuring the "pie-eyed" Mickey Mouse that was featured in the new Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway ride at Walt Disney World's Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Want more? Or a different character? Disney has a playlist with 42 videos featuring its artists teaching you how to draw various cartoon characters. You can browse the Disney drawing playlist, or just dive in and start sketching as you watch right here!

What's your favorite Disney character to draw?

Cool! Planning to brush up (pun intended) on my artwork. Thank Robert for posting these “Social Distancing” articles!
