Magic Mountain Restaurant Closed for Health Violations
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Los Angeles County closed Magic Mountain's Mooseburger Lodge for nearly a week after a health inspection last month.
Today's
L.A. Times' round-up of L.A. County restaurant closures in March included one of interest to the Theme Park Insider community: Magic Mountain's
Mooseburger Lodge, closed by L.A. County public health officials between March 9 and March 15 for "vermin infestation" and "failure to prevent entrance and harboring of vermin."
You can look up current and past inspection reports for all L.A. County restaurants (including Magic Mountain and Universal Hollywood) at http://lapublichealth.org/rating. Mooseburger Lodge's back up to an "A" rating, as of March 22, after scoring a "B" for the past two years.
Has anyone ever eaten here? I've heard it's food isn't very good.
But on the flip side you're given antler ears...
Robert, has Orange County adopted the Grading system for restaurants yet? And if you think this Mooseburger sounds nasty...did ya' hear about, and see the pictures of Goofy's Kitchen?
Orange County does not post inspection reports online, as Los Angeles County does. But Orange County does post its monthly list of restaurant closures at
http://www.oc.ca.gov/hca/regulatory/food_program/closures.htm.
Orange County restaurant inspection reports are public records, even though they are not posted online. To see a copy of a restaurant's inspection report, call Orange County at (714) 834-2147.
Here is a photo of the actual notice posted by the health department.

Cockroaches.
I just went to Magic Mountain on Tuesday and ate at the Moose Burger place. Maybe they have fixed the vermin problem but it was still a pretty dirty place. I went to the restroom during the meal and found urine all over the floor around the urinals, a broken urinal shoddily covered with a ripped trash bag, no "urinal scenters" in the urinals, and also paper towels all over the floor. It was one of the dirtiest amusement park restrooms I have ever seen.

I also ate at 'the lodge and had a mooseburger and it was just below decent. I agree with justin. Awful bathroom.

Bathroom??! Is there a bathroom in THIS mooseburger??
There isn't in mine (GrAm). When I worked there as a Park Services host over 6 ZILLION park guests asked me where it was every day! Nightmare. HA HA!
Hopefully, the vermin problem is fixed.
What's utterly pathetic at MY Mooseburger is that the extra cost isn't necessary. When I came back to GrAm as a Foods Host I was a helper there one day and I noticed that the 'jumbo' burgers are NO different than the burgers you find at the other places. What jacks up the price is the extra topping and the fries.
Is there anything that isn't going wrong with this park??? closed rides, bad security, cockroaches??? I bet that Roy Walley is turning over in his grave.

Your answer, Derek: I can't tell you myself. I never went there.
Darn, Derek. Why hasn't anyone else thought of taking the Chevy Chase approach to getting Magic Mountain to open up its rides?
Doesn't Hollywood have the answer to all of life's problems? ;-)

No way, Jose! :D
Maybe they really should rename it Wally World and have Marty Moose running around. That would at least give MM more theming than it has now.
I figured out what will go wrong next. A mad bomber will try to blow up Revolution.....

I've been to Mooseburger and haven't seem to experience that problem. Now it may not be true that it had to close down for this. Everyone's safety is the number 1 concern at Six Flags Magic Mountain. That's why you may see some rides closed, for safety checks. Everyone is to worried about having fun when they should also think about being safe, which is more important than having fun.
