Which theme parks have you visited, and when?

It's time to share your lists.

I thought it might be nice to hear from everyone just exactly which theme parks we've all visited, and when. So to kick off that discussion, I've put together my list, followed by a "to do" list of visits I have planned to parks that I haven't visited yet this year.

Where I've been, and when (in reverse order. Most recent visit only):
Disneyland 2011
Disney California Adventure 2011
SeaWorld San Diego 2011
Knott's Berry Farm 2011
Six Flags Magic Mountain 2011
Disney's Hollywood Studios 2010
Epcot 2010
Universal's Islands of Adventure 2010
Holiday World 2010
Cedar Point 2010
Six Flags Great America 2010
Universal Studios Hollywood 2010
Universal Studios Florida 2010
Universal Studios Singapore 2010
SeaWorld Orlando 2009
Dollywood 2009
Busch Gardens Williamsburg 2009
Kings Island 2009
Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom 2008
Legoland California 2008
Disney's Animal Kingdom 2008
Elitch Gardens 1999 (then Six Flags Elitch Gardens)
*Boardwalk & Baseball 1989
Busch Gardens Tampa 1984
Carowinds 1983
*Opryland USA 1982
*Busch Gardens Los Angeles 1974
*Marineland 1973

*(Park is now closed)

To do list (not including parks already visited in 2011):
Legoland California 2011
Universal Studios Hollywood 2011
Disney's Animal Kingdom 2011
Disney's Hollywood Studios 2011
Legoland Florida 2011
Busch Gardens Tampa 2011
Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom 2012

Putting this together made me realize how long it's been since I've visited Legoland. That's a function of my kids growing to be 14 and 11, I suppose. It's also a huge oversight on my part that I've not visited Busch Gardens Tampa since I was a kid. I'll remedy that this fall when I visit Florida for the opening of Legoland Florida. Otherwise, I'll pick up Animal Kingdom and Studios on my rotation of Disney World parks during our annual summer visit. (I've been holding off on the MK until the new Fantasyland is done.)

Where have you been? And where are you planning to visit?

I never knew that there was a Busch Gardens in LA! Heh, you learn something new everyday.

My list, which shows the year of each visit:

To do:
This year I will be returning back to Florida in August, so I'm hoping to hit all those parks. I also am trying to persuade my boyfriend to accompany me to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and by accompany, I mean asking him to drive me there!

Parks/Resorts to do *one day*:
There are so many I would LOVE to visit, but my top 5 to visit would be:
1. Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea
2. Europa Park
3. Cedar Point
4. Universal Studios Singapore
5. Universal Studios Hollywood

Would be interested to see which user has visited the most theme parks...

I'll try my best, but I'll end up missing some. Many of these were one-time visits, some are gone, some I visit frequently. I won't bother with the years.

Unlike Ashleigh, I did not count waterparks. And the lone time I visited Sea World Florida, in 1977, there were no rides. I only counted parks that have/had mechanical rides.

Oh, heavens, I can't possibly remember the dates of all my theme park visits. So I just listed the year of the most recent visit to each. I think that's easier for everyone, going forward.

Count whatever you'd like. I don't do waterparks, and wouldn't count visitors centers, but if you think something significantlty "theme park-y", go ahead and list it. It's your list, after all.

Here is my list with only the most recent visit listed. Only parks that I haven't seen and would really like to visit are the Disney parks overseas.

Magic Kingdom (2011)
EPCOT (2011)
Disney's Hollywood Studios (2011)
Animal Kingdom (2011)
Universal Orlando (2011)
Universal's IOA (2011)
Six Flags GA (2009)
Disneyland (2007)
Worlds of Fun (2007)
Sea World (2005)
Marineland 1988?
Miracle Strip (PCB) (1984)

The real renaissance in my family came in 2005 when my wife and I took all three kids (7,5, and 2 a the time) on their first Orlando vacation. So using 2005 as the starting point (and only listing my most recent visit to any one park) here's my list:

Six Flags New England (2011)
Six Flags Over Texas (2011)
Silver Dollar City (2010)
Kings Dominion (2010)
Six Flags Saint Louis (2010)
Animal Kingdom (2010)
Epcot (2010)
Disney Hollywood Studios (2010)
Magic Kingdom (2010)
Wild Adventures (2010)
Worlds of Fun (2009)
Adventureland - Altoona, IA (2008)
Holiday World (2008)
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (2008)
Universal Studios Orlando (2007)
Islands of Adventure (2007)
SeaWorld Orlando (2005).

Funny, I just realized I haven't visited World of Fun (20 minutes from my house) since 2009. Worse still, the only thing they've changed in the park since then is the kiddie section. Meh.

FYI - for those who know of my disappointment with Six Flags Saint Louis, I want to report that both SF Over Texas and SF New England are very nice regional parks. MUCH better than my local SF pit stop.

Incidentally, the last time I visited Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Magic Mountain, and Knotts Berry Farm was in 1981 when I was 12 years old (I grew up in Simi Valley, CA). So, for my next big family trip it will be time to "Go West!"

Theme Parks:
Universal Studios Florida 2011
Islands of Adventure 2011
Magic Kingdom 2011
Epcot 2011
Hollywood Studios 2011
Animal Kingdom 2011
Sea World Orlando 2011
Busch Gardens Tampa 2006
Six Flags Saint Louis 2006
Fun Spot 2005
Santa's Village 1998
Silver Dollar City 1996
Sea World San Diego 1995? (not sure on the years...)
San Diego Zoo 1995 (does that count?)

Waterparks:
Atlantis Resort 2009
Wet n Wild Orlando 2004
Blizzard Beach 2004
Rapids Waterpark 2002
Typhoon Lagoon 2001
*River Country 1997

To Do List for Both:
Aquatica 2011
Disneyland 2015 (it'll take that long to save for flights and hotel even if I plan to have a maingate by that point)
California Adventure 2015(see above)
Universal Studios Hollywood 2015
Discovery Cove TBD
Universal Studios Singapore TBD

I'm getting a FL resident pass to Aquatica since I now live walking distance from it and it teases me everyday.

I'm saving for a big California trip, but saving at this point means throwing coins in a jar on the counter. However, I refuse to have that turn into an Up thing so I will get there in 2015 even if the apartment fall apart around me ;)

Discovery Cove and Singapore will wait until I win the lottery!

Donna,

I never went, but Circus World was in Florida even before the mid-80's, I believe. I think it was in Sarasota, and was affiliated with the Ringling Brothers clown-training school. I remember seeing advertising for it on my two 1970's trips to the Sunshine State as a kid.

Update, change Worlds of Fun to 2011. Heading there in about two hours. Highlights of the trip will include my now 48" daughter finally riding Mamba and Prowler, and my now 54" son riding Patriot, his first B&M inverted coaster.

Other than that, I look forward to eating out for lunch... but NOT at the park. Ugh!

Glad I wasn't making up my memories of circus world Mike! There isn't one single photo of it but I distinctly remember being taught to walk a tightrope (about 2 feet off the ground) and having my face painted like a clown. Ah...good times!

Circus World was revamped into Boardwalk & Baseball, which was then closed and eventually torn down. It's the Haines City exit on I-4, south of Disney.

K I knew I'd forget something...I forgot to mention Circus Circus in the yr 2000 I think it was & I've ridden all the coasters in Las Vegas except NY NY, including High Roller (Stratosphere Twr) & Desperado at state line. While most of those are not technically theme parks, they are coasters & I think since Buffalo Bill's has a number of rides, it qualifies as does the Tower. ;)

Since I don't have the luxury of planning my family vacations and I'm the only theme park person in my family, my list is short.

Magic Kingdom 2011
Epcot 2011
Hollywood Studios 2011
Animal Kingdom 2011
Islands of Adventure 2011
Universal Orlando 2011
Busch Gardens Tampa 2008

Upcoming
Drinking around the world at the Food and Wine 2011!
Disneyland 2013
Disney California Adventure 2013
My significant other has already set her birthday trip for that year.

My wish list is pretty big, so it would be fruitless to try to tackle it.

I am not sure of the years, but I will do my best:
WDW 1979,1991,1992,1995,2005,2006,2008 all of those are ishes!
Disneyland 1988, 1989
Universal CA 1989
Coney Island tooooooo many times to mention
Six Flags Great Adventure again too many times, but my last visit was in 2009
Elitch Gardens 1997, 2009
Sea World San Antonio 1996
Six Flags Fiesta Texas 1996, 2001
Sea World San Diego 1989
Busch Gardens Florida 1995
Kings Dominion 2008
Valleyfair 2010
Hershey Park 1984
Are we counting Las Vegas and small places like Rye Playland (I guess Coney would fall into that category too)

Wow.... I did not realize how bad my theme park addiction was until then! I need to get help.... but not until I get home from Disneyland in a couple of weeks! Ha Ha!
