Universal Backlot...Leaving?
Universal Studios Hollywood: I don't get why the Universal Backlot is leaving...THAT MEANS NO MORE STUDIO TOUR!! Studio Tour is like one of the best attractions in USH. I need to know if it's leaving!!
Is it true that the Backlot is going to leave? When? Where? WHY?
No. Universal simply is devising yet another master plan for developing undeveloped land on its backlot.

Well MGM got ride of their backlot tour (sorta) so maybe it is just an attraction going out of style with the "behind the scenes" on DVDs. THats just my observation!
Nah. D-MGM's tour blew because there was so little actual filming that took place there. USH's tour shows you real sets, and changes daily due to shooting skeds on the back lot. Yes, it's lost much allure, thanks to DVD extras, but I can't see the tour going away anytime soon. What I would like to see is better use of the land in and around the park to create more immersive, interactive attractions.
What Rides does MGM have?
If you are being serious they have Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, The Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, and the Tram Tour. These are the attractions that actually move!
I have never been on any Universal tours since I am not fond of the park. But, I think their other attractions need work before they try to update a tour.
No MGM, is in Orlando of Disney. Its a themepark, I'm talking about in the real MGM United Artist Studios Studio Tour, I was wondering if there are rides there.

"What these leaves out, of course, is theme parks. Universal officials got burned a decade ago by neighbors with plans to expand the entertainment zone. In the LAT, Universal president Ron Meyer distanced the company from those plans. "
That ruins a bit of the chances of a big section of new rides. They do have their selves in an awkward position. Seems as though they have limited room. But, I'm sure they'll find a way around this, and build a few more rides.

I think it is really stupid if the rumors are true. Everyone knows that USF is way better than USH and the only thing that keeps a west coast person from going to Florida is the studio tour hoping to see someone famous. I saw Tom Cruise filming War of the Worlds and it was ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING so I think if they take that away USH will never see the light of day again, at least until they find something better?
Although I have never been to USH, I've always been under the impression that they don't have as much to offer as Universal Orlando. Don't get me wrong, I would still love to go primarily for the studio backlot tour, but I feel this is the ONLY thing USH has over Universal Orlando. Even most of the duplicate attractions at Universal Orlando are supposedly better than at USH most notably Revenge of the Mummy. USH MUST KEEP THE TOUR!
When I rode the ST I didn't see any celebrity... <_<

I never heard nothing about the backlot leaving. I hope it's not true. Thats the best part of the theme park. Chris
Thats really the only real constant at that park isnt it? The backlot has even went through a few changes recently.
Here are two great links to the USH Studio Tour...
