What's New in 2011?
2011 will be a year where Alton Towers will concentrate on families with events and concerts, plus an all new live theatre show. No new major rides have been planned. Sharkbait Reef sees the arrival of the biggest display of Japanese Spider Crabs.

Theme Park
There is something for the whole family in the theme park, with tons of roller coasters, rides, amazing live shows and weird and wonderful characters. The park is home to Air, Oblivion and Nemesis, three of the world's best roller rollercoasters - but is also full of attractions for the family and children, including Duel: The Haunted House Strikes Back, Sonic Spinball, The Peugeot 207 Driving School and Berry Bish Bash just to name a few. If you're looking for a great day out in the UK, look no further than the UK's most visited theme park.

Theme Park Fastrack
Alton Towers now offers a paid Fastrack system with packages ranging from £6 to £80 featuring almost any ride in the park. This model is in line with other Merlin parks around the world.

Hotels & Waterpark
Enjoy a great short break at the Alton Towers Resort, there's so much to do, amazingly themed hotels provide the perfect base for your preparation for every days marvellous adventures. All hotel guests benefit from unlimted access to the water park and the theme park for the duration of their stay when staying as part of a package deal.

The Alton Towers Hotel is themed around the quirky explorer Sir Algenon Alton who travelled the world in his airship and left treasures from his trips in the hotel. You might notice a giant airship, an elephant and two themed restaurants! Alton Towers Hotel is also home to the critically acclaimed Spa and has direct theme park access via the Woodland Walkway to Forbidden Valley.

Splash Landings Hotel is a vibrant Caribbean themed retreat featuring an indoor waterpark and a massive buffet restaurant, plus a vibrant bar and snack shack, right next to the theme park Monorail.

Extraordinary Golf
Test your skills at Extraordinary Golf located near Splash Landings Hotel featuring two 9-hole courses with obstacles themed around some of the most famous and iconic Alton Towers rides. The courses can be played as one long 18 hole course aswell as two 9 hole courses. Opening times and rates are available on the official park website.

Location
Alton Towers is located in the middle of the countryside, but is still clearly signposted from:
M1 North: Junction 23a or M6 N: Junction 15
M1 South: Junction 24a or M6 S: Junction 16

*Please note that Alton Towers operates a parking charge for all guests except Annual Passholders and Hotel residents.

Current Theme Park Events
Scarefest 2011 - 15th-31st October - late night rides until 9pm and lots of spooky surprises including three live action mazes, a scare zone and a range of seasonal family shows & attractions including a Birds of Prey presentation and live story time in Old MacDonald's Farmyard.
