Alton Towers fails restaurant inspection

January 4, 2007, 4:31 PM · Most of the restaurants in Alton Towers failed an inspection yesterday conducted by food hygiene experts at the park. Only four restaurants were up to standards and requirements.

Big chain outlets like KFC and McDonald's have now been ordered to "clean up". The KFC in the park was the worst, where hygiene was so bad it did not meet legal requirements.

Even the park's own staff restaurant was said to be unhygienic.

Examples of faults were dirty sweet scoops, damaged kitchen worktops and lack of hot water.

Has anyone ever had any problems with Alton's restaurants?

January 8, 2007 at 1:20 AM · Alton Towers is a disgrace to the 'theme park' label that it's owner, Tussauds, cynically exploits. It is also a thriving example whereby they 'pay peanuts and hire (sullen) monkeys'. It's pricing structure is cutting edge whilst it's customer service is pre-historically dismal.
