Freestyle Park Purchased in Foreclosure, May Re-Open in 2012
Freestyle Music Park (Myrtle Beach, SC) was purchased out of foreclosure this week. New owners say park could re-open in 2012. Freestyle Music Park started life as the Hard Rock Park in 2008 and closed after one year. It was later purchased for a modest amount and operated one season (2009) as Freestyle Music Park. It has been closed for 2010 and 2011.

I was actually in Mrytle Beach last summer and when I was driving to the outlet I saw this theme park and thought it looked cool and then I realized it was closed sadly but if I ever go back to Mrytle Beach would totally check it out.
I'm actually in the middle of a very long piece about this, but I'll briefly say that I sincerely hope the third time is the charm for this place. Hard Rock was great but mismanaged. The park wasn't as good when it became Freestyle, but talking to park management gave me the impression that they had some very good ideas they wanted to implement that sadly couldn't happen because of all the hanging debt.
This park just went back on my bucket list!
They need to bring back the Nights in Dark Satin dark ride. Now that was an interesting trip!
^Tony, I think you mean Nights in WHITE Satin! But at least you didn't refer to the ride/song as 'KNIGHTS" In White Satin, as I've often seen.
Anyhoo, my day at HRP in 2008 was one of the five best single days I've ever had at a park. But I'm taking this news with the proverbial grain of salt.

That's great news! I went there in 2009, and it was very fun (except the MonStars of Rock dark ride). I can't wait for the reopening!
