Shanghai Disneyland reveals details for its Toy Story Land

November 30, 2017, 10:43 AM · The Shanghai Disney Resort today revealed the attraction line-up and concept art for the Toy Story Land now under construction at Shanghai Disneyland.

This will be the fourth Toy Story Land at Disney theme parks around the world when it opens in summer 2018. (Well, I suppose it might be the third, if it opens before the Toy Story Land under construction at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida that's also slated for a 2018 debut.)

Shanghai's Toy Story Land will include an Intamin RC Racer coaster from the Paris and Hong Kong installations (to be called Rex's Racer in Shanghai).

And it will include the Slinky Dog Spin caterpillar ride from those parks, as well.

Shanghai's Toy Story Land will not include the Parachute Drop ride from those lands, however, substituting Woody's Round-Up, instead — a spinner ride similar to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure.

The land also will include a Toy Box Cafe restaurant, which sounds similar to the Woody's Lunch Box restaurant coming to the Walt Disney World Toy Story Land. An Old West meet and greet location and an Al's Toy Barn store complete the line-up in Shanghai.

Toy Story Land will be the seventh themed land at the Shanghai park, and the first added since the park opened in 2016.

However, I don't understand why Disney is so reluctant to add Toy Story Mania to these lands (e.g. in Paris, Hong Kong, and now Shanghai). It's widely popular with visitors and I doubt that it's super expensive since the ride is almost completely screen-based and Disney is very experienced in constructing and operating it.
