Disneyland's cast members are going to Batuu in style

March 18, 2019, 1:00 PM · What? It's been a week since we've written anything about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge? Well, we can't have that kind of gap around here, can we?

On our YouTube channel right now, we're sharing another video from Disneyland featuring the opening crew of Black Spire Outpost, this time from the cast-only preview evening when Disney showed off some of the new cast costumes you will find when the new Star Wars land opens on May 31.

Last week, we shared some cast members' reactions when they got the news that they would be "going to Batuu" as part of the opening team for Galaxy's Edge. The new land opens on a reservation-only basis at the Disneyland Resort on May 31, before opening to all Disneyland ticket holders on June 24 and then to ticket holders at Walt Disney World's Disney's Hollywood Studios on August 29. But even with a reservation-required opening at Disneyland and capacity limited, no one expects Galaxy's Edge to be anything but crowded. (Even more so when the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride opens later this year.) And it's those big crowds that really allow theme park employees to step forward and shine as their crowd management skills are put to the test.

Whatever lies in store later this spring, Disney's Star Wars cast members will be enthusiastic and looking good as they welcome the first guests to Batuu.
