Wreck-It-Ralphs evict Mickey at Disney World's Epcot

November 1, 2019, 1:03 PM · With the demolition of their former home in the Innoventions building part of Epcot's transformation plans, the park's Disney character meet and greets are on the move. Today, Disney announced where its Big Cheese will be moving.

Starting early next year, Mickey Mouse will begin greeting Epcot guests in the Imagination pavilion, next to the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival.

Mickey has been meeting fans in the Epcot Character Spot in Innoventions West, along with Minnie and Goofy, with Baymax and Joy and Sadness holding court next door. But the real-life Wreck-It-Ralphs moving in to tear down much of what stands in between Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase Lagoon, everyone has to hit the road — even the Mouse who runs the joint.

Eventually, the area of the park will become Epcot's World Celebration land, anchored by Spaceship Earth at one end and the new Dreamers Point structure overlooking World Showcase. But the big new addition to the area, according to company managers, will be more trees and shade than ever before, providing comfort on the site of what has been the Disney Parks' giant-scale Easy Bake Oven, roasting guests since 1982.

Stay tuned for more news about character meet and greet locations inside the park as the Epcot construction project continues.

"Disney Parks' giant-scale Easy Bake Oven, roasting guests since 1982."

Yeah, but they offset that by providing guests millions of gallons of free CocaCola products from around the world at Club Cool. What's more EPCOT than sweating off the bitter deliciousness of Beverly walking between the fountain and the next bastion of air conditioning inside the Mexico pavilion?

Walking through Epcot's Future World on a sunny summer day to get a cup of Beverly has to have been a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Send me to The Hague.

Since Club Cool is also gone now to make way for the Re-Imagining of Future World, guess they're redeploying that Beverly to Guantanamo for interrogations while endlessly playing "It's a Small World."
