Hersheypark tops out its 2020 coaster, Candymonium

November 4, 2019, 7:35 PM · Construction is moving quickly on what will be Hersheypark's tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster: Candymonium.

The Pennsylvania theme park today posted video of crews placing the highest track piece on the new Bolliger & Mabillard Hyper Coaster, which is slated to open next year.

Candymonium now stands at its full 210 feet tall, even if more of its 4,636 feet of track remains to be installed. The coaster will reach a top speed of 76 miles per hour and feature seven camelback hills and a 123-degree hammerhead curve , finishing with a banked curve that wraps around the park's new icon, the Kisses Fountain.

The coaster anchors Hersheypark's $150 million, 23-acre Hershey's Chocolatetown expansion project, which also includes a new park entrance as well as a new flagship restaurant and sweet shops.
