Holiday World goes vertical on its new water coaster

November 8, 2019, 11:03 AM · Holiday World has begun placing the track pieces for its third water coaster, Cheetah Chase.

The $7 million new ride will feature two ProSlide rocketBLAST-powered racing slides, as well as the first horizontal launch from station on a water slide. Holiday World Maintenance Manager Anthony VanCamp updates the ride's construction progress.

Cheetah Chase's slides will race in multiple locations and each slide will feature two of ProSlide's FlyingSaucer elements. The right slide will be one foot longer than the left, at 852 feet to 851, and the ride's top speed will be just over 20 mph. Here are the POVs.

Cheetah Chase will open in May at the Santa Claus, Indiana's Splashin' Safari water park, which is included with Holiday World admission. It will join the park's two other water coasters, Wildebeest and Mammot, which is the longest water coaster in the world.
