There's a new boss at Legoland California

February 26, 2020, 10:04 AM · Legoland California has a new general manager in charge of the park.

Australia native Kurt Stocks comes to the Carlsbad park from Legoland Malaysia, where he also served as general manager. He replaces the retiring Peter Ronchetti, who served as Legoland California's GM for 11 years, during which the park expanded with the addition of the Legoland Hotel, the Legoland Castle Hotel and the Lego Chima Water Park.

According to Legoland's press release, "Stocks began his career as a professional rugby player before transitioning into a career in the health and fitness industry where he rose to the role of Managing Director at Fitness First Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur."

Legoland California next month will open The Lego Movie World, the west coast installation of the movie-themed land that opened last year at Legoland Florida.
