New Detail Revealed for Universal Studios Beijing

October 20, 2020, 12:48 PM · Universal Parks and Resorts is sharing a new fly-through highlight video for its next theme park resort — Universal Studios Bejing, which is on schedule to open next year.

"We and our local partners, including Beijing Tourism Group, are creating one of the most magnificent theme park destinations ever built – right here in Beijing," Universal Beijing Resort President and General Manager Tom Mehrmann said. "It is the fruit of co-creation, merging Universal's decades of global theme park experience with our partner’s deep insights on China. Over 100,000 constructors, more than 500 designers and artists, and more than 500 suppliers and partners from around the world jointly made the project possible, and we can’t wait to unveil this dream destination to the world next year."

The Universal Grand Hotel will stand at the park's entrance at the end of Universal Beijing Resort's CityWalk dining and entertainment district. It will be one of two hotels that will open with the resort, including the NUO Resort Hotel. You can see both hotels as well as first-look details inside the park in the resort's new highlight video.

The video details most of the park's attraction line-up.

"This is a story of designers of different cultures and thinking working together to collaborate, impact and co-create," Universal Parks and Resorts Senior Director & Executive Producer John Gentile said of the resort. "Based on the co-creation and our persistence in detail, we have brought something spectacular to life and put our guests in the story. I’m sure you will share in the amazement as you experience the park that has benefitted from the creative input of so many people and so much remarkable effort. We are very proud to be part of this great journey."

I'm sure someone has already said this but this park seems to be "Universal:Our Best Hits" park.

A few things-

Did anyone notice that suspended coaster in Camp Jurassic? It's not mentioned in this article or in the video, but I see it mentioned in other places. Is this suppose to be more of a "secret" attraction? People are pictured to be screaming so it'll probably be thrilling, and it has OTSR, but not vest restraints so I'm not sure if this is a B&M.

Also the Decipticoaster (I guess this kind of name is the norm now) has vest restraints. The hulk is perfectly fine without VR but I wonder if this'll make the experience better.

It saddens me that in an entirely new park, there are only two original attractions - and one of them is just another motion simulator. Sigh...

This looks VERY exciting. It will surely put some wind back in Comcast's sails!

Now let's tear down KidsZone and build Nintendoland Orlando!

Shanghai Disneyland opened with lots of clones with along with a few new attractions. And I believe Universal Japan opened with all rides and shows from the American parks.
