Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando in Florida is best known as the home of the "Harry Potter theme park" - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Wizarding World is by far the most popular section of the park. Arrive early and make the Theme Park Insider Award-winning “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” ride your first stop, or book a room at one of the three on-site Universal hotels to get exclusive early access each day.

After seeing the Wizarding World, other popular rides in the theme park include The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (which will be revamped with a new HD film in 2012), Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and the Jurassic Park River Adventure, both of which will leave you soaking wet.

Buying tickets in advance is a must, and be sure to check the park's daily operating hours on Universal's website. (The park is open every day of the year.) If you'd like to eat lunch or dinner at the award-winning Mythos or book the Cat in the Hat character breakfast at Confisco Grille, call 407-224-4012 for advance reservations.

Both Universal Orlando theme parks are located just off Interstate 4 in Orlando, near the intersection with the Florida Turnpike. You can get driving directions to the parks on our Google Map of America's top theme parks.
