Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls reviews
Theme Park Insider readers offer their ratings and reviews for Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, a flume ride in Toon Lagoon at Universal's Islands of Adventure. (The minimum height to ride is 44 inches.)
Written by Robert Niles
Featuring characters from the Dudley Do-Right cartoons that ran during the old Rocky & Bullwinkle TV show, this flume ride sails you through a classic melodrama where the inept officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police tries to save dear Nell from the clutches of the wicked Snidely Whiplash. Of course, it's Dudley's trusty steed, Horse, who's the brains of the team here, and all ends well — after a drenching double-dip final drop, of course.
Wow, this ride has some of the worst theming I've ever seen. However the last drop is so intense that I have to give it a great rating. - Quentin Scruggs
A very wet, but fun flume ride. The story is simple to follow and the visuals along the way are interesting. Of course the final drop/splashdown of the ride is the highlight of the attraction. A detractor though is the weird and sometimes uncomfortable seating in the ride vehicle. Larger and taller riders or people who enter the vehicle improperly may feel uncomfortable for the duration of the ride. Regardless, this is a cool ride. - Manny Barron
No, it doesn't have the extensive theming of Splash Mountain, but it does have a cute storyline and a lot of humor. There are a few unexpected dips along the way, but the final drop is a doozy! - Michelle Morgan
The theming may be a little weak, but the ride itself is great! Best flume ride I've ever been on, from a drop, speed, surprises point of view. - tom bagnell
Every time I tryed this ride it was shut down. But on my most recent trip to IOA I rode it. The main ride was a bad copy of SM at magic kingdom but the drop was awesome. 5/10 - Jaiden Cohen
This is an awful ride that ones was ok but because of the changes of the ride vehicles the whole experience is ruined. It's horrible to get in and out of the vehicles and they lock you so tight in there you don't even feel the final drop what used to be the highlight of this ride. - O T
Outstanding flume ride. Exciting, funny, adventurous and wet wet wet. The Dudley Do Right theming is a howl. We love this attraction and ride it numerous times along with Jurassic Park River Adventures and Popeye/Blutos Bilge Rat Barges, the trifecta of theme park water rides. - Rob Pastor
Though there's almost no story that last drop is wicked. - Jeff Moon
Beautiful facade. Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls tells a generic story about a damsel in distress, but with a lot of humor along the way. The final drop is amazing. My only gripe is that some show scenes or tunnels look incomplete and rushed. - Bryce McGibeny
Another great ride at IOA, Splash Mountain is better themed but this one have a better final drop. Love it. - David Shaul
This brought back so many great memories of watching Dudley Do-Right and Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns on Saturday mornings as a kid. Great theming, a nice long ride with a great buildup, and a really nice double-plunge at the end. Love the "curtain of water" set-up on the way back up the hill... - Jonah Sirota
