Featuring characters from the Dudley Do-Right cartoons that ran during the old Rocky & Bullwinkle TV show, this flume ride sails you through a classic melodrama where the inept officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police tries to save dear Nell from the clutches of the wicked Snidely Whiplash. Of course, it's Dudley's trusty steed, Horse, who's the brains of the team here, and all ends well — after a drenching double-dip final drop, of course.
The theming is such an absolute let down. It is the only Universal ride that feels cheap and tacky. While that matches the tongue in cheek humor, it still retracts from the experience when there is no illusion, and it just feels like a ride. However, the drops are a lot of fun, and you get a nice soaking. That last drop bumps it up because you get airtime on a log flume... twice. 6/10
Cheap and tacky and odd. You will get soaked. I ride it when I'm at IOA, but Splash Mountain and Jurassic are much better.
Compared to Splash Mountain, this ride is poorly done. It just feels like a bunch of tacky sets and then a drop. YOU WILL ALSO GET SOAKED LIKE NEVER BEFORE.
I like the concept but the execution is just OKAY. My problem with the ride is that, with the exception of the facade (that I love so much), the rest of the ride looks cheap and tacky. The animatronics are awful and there is no immersion at all. In the bright side, I like the humor, I always get soaked and the final drop is pure fun. Disney beats Universal in this one... by far.
This brought back so many great memories of watching Dudley Do-Right and Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns on Saturday mornings as a kid. Great theming, a nice long ride with a great buildup, and a really nice double-plunge at the end. Love the "curtain of water" set-up on the way back up the hill...
One of the best flume ride drops EVER! It seems like it needs some renovation though. 9/10
Outstanding flume ride. Exciting, funny, adventurous and wet wet wet. The Dudley Do Right theming is a howl. We love this attraction and ride it numerous times along with Jurassic Park River Adventures and Popeye/Blutos Bilge Rat Barges, the trifecta of theme park water rides.
While not the best ride in terms of theming (it's Dudley Do-Right for crying out loud), that final drop will leave you soaked to the bone. Biggest gripes: single riders line is too claustrophobic and lap bars are uncomfortable.
This is a great log flume ride. The ride has great interiors and the drop is a lot of fun.
Wow, this ride has some of the worst theming I've ever seen. However the last drop is so intense that I have to give it a great rating.
A very wet, but fun flume ride. The story is simple to follow and the visuals along the way are interesting. Of course the final drop/splashdown of the ride is the highlight of the attraction. A detractor though is the weird and sometimes uncomfortable seating in the ride vehicle. Larger and taller riders or people who enter the vehicle improperly may feel uncomfortable for the duration of the ride. Regardless, this is a cool ride.
