What's new on the discussion board: A new coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa?

February 9, 2010, 8:14 AM · We've got some interesting observations and potentially fun conversations waiting for you over on the Theme Park Insider Discussion Board:

  • Andrew Holden has noticed survey stakes in the ground around Busch Gardens Tampa, perhaps the first sign of a rumored new launch roller coaster at the Florida park for 2011.

  • In the meantime, Is Busch Gardens Tampa worth visiting? another reader asks.

  • And on the subject of new roller coasters, another reader wonders if Cedar Point will be adding a new roller coaster anytime soon, in an effort to break the "coaster king" tie it will soon share with Six Flags Magic Mountain, when the California park debuts its 17th coaster in May.

  • Amanda Jenkins offers a trip report on a visit to Walt Disney World without the kids: Part one and part two

    I'm planning to do a better job this year of posting regular round-ups of new discussion threads, to keep blog readers up on what's happening over on the board, and, I hope, encourage more readers to head over there with their questions and observations on topics we don't cover here on the blog.

    I encourage that attempt, Robert. I hardly ever visit the discussion board anymore because it's become riddled with so many repetitive (e.g. WUTZ DA BEZT CEDAR POINT COASTER?) and uninteresting (e.g. WUTZ DA BEZT CEDAR POINT COASTER?) topics.

    Unfortunately, this causes me to miss many solid trip reports, news blips, and speculations, so a round-up of relevant or interesting topics would be nice.

    I'm hoping that this serves as encouragement to folks to submit some trip reports and interesting observations, too.

    I've got a D.C. trip report coming soon. Not theme parks, technically, but near some major ones (in case people want to detour).

    Thanks for the shout out Robert about Walk in the Parks. I really hope there are some TPIers out there that will sign up for it. Seriously, its a great time and for a great cause. Plus, you can go to Six Flags for free/highly discounted. Feel free to join my team if in the Chicagoland area!

    I am in a wheelchair and I love theme park rides. I wish there were discussions about disabilities and theme parks.
