Maliboomer

Drop ride
Minimum height to ride: 52 inches

About Maliboomer

Ride the little metal ball straight up as the strongman tries to ring the bell at the top. Be sure to get your rides in soon as this attraction will be gone within the next year or so.

the plastic shield everyone complains about is to shield the noise level because the park is in a residential area. -- Last edited by Matthew Shelman

Wow! I was sooooooo nervous when I went on it the first time, but I enjoyed a lot afterwards. - Ride Lover

It's truly unfortunate that Disney plans to remove this ride from the Paradise Pier section of California Adventure. I'm not a fan of DROP-ZONE style rides and looked at several videos on You Tube before leaving for Califoria and decided to make the decision to ride when I got to the park and watched it go up a few times. Knowing it was going to be removed and wanted to fulfill my first DisneyLAND experience after 12 years of DisneyWorld by riding everything in sight. I went for it. This is an excellent little ride...over too soon, but I would say it's EASILY as good as the Califoria version of Tower of Terror (which pales in comparison with Orlando) There is rarely a line up at the Maliboomer, AND it's a great place to use up some time after you've got your FASTPASS for California Screamin'...there is a single-rider line and I managed to ride about 4 or 5 times within about a half hour or less. You get a great view of the surrounding city (I know some purists have mentioned Walt's "no view of the outside world" mandate, however, if that were the case then they would have to close Screamin' too (and that would be a true crime). The "scream" shields are heavy duty, made of rigid plexiglas about a quarter of an inch thick...and it sits a fair distance away from the rider's face (about 15" or so) to not detour from the ride experience. If you're visiting Disney's Califoria adventure park over the next little while, make sure you try this one out...this one is also a GREAT introduction to Launch/drop rides for younger riders as the initial launch is less stressful than other drop rides I've experienced. I'll definitely miss it! - William LeMasurier

This is a decent drop ride, but it really doesn't fit the disney atmosphere, and across the park is a much better drop ride in Tower of Terror - Patrick Gorham

This ride is pretty fun, i don't get why they're removing it, but oh well. - Chloe !

this ride is pretty fun, give it a chance before it's removed, alot of chickens past this ride for some reason, doesn't even go all that fast. It's a shame it's being removed cause it looked good with the Carnival feel they try to bring the paradise pier area. To bad people complain that it's not a disney type ride. - Matthew Shelman

Not that fun of a ride. You basically blast off really fast and then slowly go up and down. You might as well go on the Jumpin' Jellyfish. - Erin : )

A ride that decides to put comfort to the residents around but put the uncomfortable side to the visitors of the park. Nonetheless, the ride was quite cool. - Adriel Tjokrosaputro

It's a decent ride. The launch is neat and the waiting before the launch is the biggest thrill on this. After the initial launch passes, the rest of the ride consists of short gentle drops before the ride ends. It appears true that this ride will be removed for DCA's renovation. Though fun for about 10 seconds the ride does give some really un-disneyland like views at the top(mainly the hotels parking lots and anaheim's residential areas). When Walt created Disneyland he said he did't want visitors to see the outside world while inside the park, and this ride does that. It has no theming, it is an eyesore, and it belongs at other amusement parks and not in Disney. So I agree with the removal. For now though, the ride rarely has long waits exceeding 20 minutes. - Manny Barron

First time on it will always be your best experience for this ride. Alot of ride for the limited space it takes up though. Can't really imagine what would go up there if it were to come out. I have to also ask...Whatz-up with that plactic face guard with all those spit marks on it? Windex please ! - Dwight Graham

The eye sore of Anaheim is leaving. Mediocre ride. It never lived up to the expectations of Disney. Now where have I heard that before... oh yeah, the Rocket Rods! Apparently they didn't learn the first time. As an Anaheim resident, it's annoying to see that hideaous tower where ever you go in downtown. - Eric Ey

I have been on 6 drop/lift towers. This is the weakest one. What is with the face shield? No other park has them. - Erik Cobbs

I really enjoyed this ride. It has a unique location and it is worth the rie. The themeing needs some help. - Ben James

I heard they're removing within a few years! So ride it as much as possible before this happens! Yet thank goodness there's Supreme Scream over at Knott's! It's a awesome ride though! 3rd best in the park next to Screamin of Tower of Terror! - lewis bryces
