Soarin' Over California

Simulator ride

About Soarin' Over California

A travelog film where visitors sit in ski-lift-type benches underneath a giant wing, which rise into the air in front of a giant, IMAX-style screen. Your feet dangle as you "fly" over various sights around California, sniffing the oranges and sea air and feeling the breeze as you fly by. -- Last edited by Robert Niles

it's an okay ride at best not that great - Michael Brunson

This is Disney at its best. One of my favorite rides anywhere. The scenes, the motion, the music, and even the olfactory effects all add up to a great experience. The best experience is the top row where your are suspended the higher than the other two rows. An absolute do not miss attraction at the Disneyland Resort. Waiting times are horrendous for this ride. On some occasions when I've visited the park Soarin is open a bit earlier than the 10 o'clock park opening time. I highly suggest doing this first thing in the morning as lines build quickly and fastpasses run out faster than any other ride. A truly inspiring ride that everyone should experience. - Manny Barron

Awesome movie. I love the smell effects. However, the movie loses a little of its magic after the 2nd time you see it. - Will Chilcote

This ride is seriously amazing! It feels like you're actually flying. It's so cool, Sometimes the lines take a while but its totally worth waiting for - Chloe !

One of the most memorable rides you will ever go on!! This is definitely a must see while at DCA! The lines are long so I definitely recommend fastpasses. But even with a long line this will be one of the most amazing rides you will ever go on. It's perfect for all five senses and you really do feel like you're Soarin' over California!! - Alexz Krysstensin

it was an awesome ride. I personally love motion simulators so it already gets a ten. and the scenes on the ride are cool too. you can feel the wind and the temperature changes and the smells of the places aren't too strong and yet not too weak. and it also has really cool music. the jet part and the golf ball scared the heck out of me. lol. and the host is Patrick Warburton! he's awesome! i would give this ride an 11 out of ten! -Watch for a hidden mickey on the golf ball and the fireworks. - Lucas Lee

Very over rated in my opinion. Fun the first time, but if you've been to half the places portrayed in the video.. well the significance just isn't there. - Jacob Sundstrom

This ride was AMAZING!!! the sensory stimulation and immersive ride film and movement is incredible, and the film itself is breathtaking. Good job disney - Patrick Gorham

This completely immersive flight simulator attraction is FANTASTIC!!! I love riding in the front row. That is the ultimate place to be on this simulator! I know for a fact that Disney will redo the film when it becomes outdated. Bravo Disney, for taking us on a flight of the imagination all over the state without even leaving the park. A++ - Sarah E

Without a doubt the best ride in DCA for everyone! Bombarding you with almost every sense, except for taste, in very subtle ways, the ride lets you experience faux-flight in a spectacular, yet relaxing manner! Sure, the transitions aren't realistic, but if there were realistic transitions this ride would take a whole day. And there are musical transitions to fit with the change of scenery. Perfect ride! Here's to hoping that the film and screen don't degrade like the Back to the Future Ride did! - Brandon Mendoza

Beats "STAR TOURS" hands down! Could not ride this enough! - Mike Sanders
